Opeongo Mountain Resort

Pat and I rented a boat at Opeongo Mountain Resort on Lake Clear, southwest of Eganville last Saturday. It didn't take us very long to figure out why they called it Lake Clear. The water is so clear that you could drop your map in 15' of water and still be able to read it from in the boat.

We caught quite a few very small Bass and we saw a few big Bass but the big ones just didn't want to bite. No Walleye. I think we could have caught some if we had stayed a bit later but it was already dark and we'd already been on the lake for 12 hours so we left. I definitely want to go back.

Here are some photos that Pat took. He took some pretty cool photos of the clear water but the photos don't do it justice. It really was amazing to see.

Here are some that I took. We found an island with a good spot to stop and have supper. I accidentally left my camera behind and didn't realize it until a few hours later when we were about 2 minutes from the marina. We had to shoot 15-20 minutes back across the lake in the dark to get it. It's a damn good thing Pat has a new GPS.
