Back to Lake Clear
We headed back to Lake Clear again last Saturday. We had a beautiful day but not much luck fishing. It was a little on the hot side but we had the bimini top to give us some shade.

Another Garden Update
I took some more photos after work today. Who would have thought that snapping a few photos could be a workout, but when it's above 30°C...
The garden is doing better this year than previous years. Bigger plants and higher yields. I love it. Pay no attention to the droopyness of the cucumber leaves. Apparently they like the heat about as much as I do. I just watered them, so they'll be back to normal in no time. Also, pay no attention to the broken beer bottle on the table. Nothing to see here. Move along.
You can see how crowded the bell peppers are and I have another plant just like this one. Previous years I was lucky to get one or two dwarf peppers per plant. The El Jefe peppers (bigger and hotter than jalapenos) are doing great and so are the Cayenne. A couple of weeks ago, a tomato plant fell over and snapped half of the Cayenne plant off so it would've been even bigger and fuller. The tomato plant is fine. I just had to prop it up with a hockey stick. It was just too heavy for the little wire cage. There's a Habanero plant in the back there too and it's taken a long time to get going but it's full of little peppers now. I didn't get a photo of that one. I've already eaten some of the El Jefe and Cayenne.
Here are the tomatoes (note the aforementioned hockey stick). I've been eating the Cupids (tall cherry tomatoes at the back) for a couple of weeks now. There's a handful of red ones ready to pick almost every day. Some of the Roma tomatoes are starting to turn red now and there's still a million green tomatoes in there. They're so tightly packed in there that they can't even grow round. I think I'll have to make tomato sauce 'cause there's no way I can eat that many tomatoes. I've got two other plants growing like weeds at the front edge of the garden too (not pictured).
Here are a few green beans. There is still a good handful left to pick and I've already picked and eaten the equivalent of two ziplock freezer bags full. I can't believe how many beans you can get out of a row about three feet long.
The cucumbers are doing fantastic. I can't keep up. There's only so many cucumbers you can eat. I tried eating one for breakfast but they taste like hell with coffee.
The musk melons (cantaloupe) are doing much better than last year although there are still lots of flowers and not many fruit. The flowers are just starting to change into fruit now.
