Deer Hunt 2007

I got up to the Farm for the first week of the hunt this year. It was really great to meet the crew that I've heard so much about. The pre-hunt was a blast and so was the early morning celebration on Tuesday after Dad shot his first Buck. Who knew how delicious a beer could be at 7:30am in a crisp and sunny clearing in the woods. It's really too bad half the gang had to leave Tuesday afternoon. With the deer I shot later on Tuesday afternoon, my first deer, I think we really could have got into some trouble. The rest of the week was a little more relaxing but not too many signs of deer. I came home on Saturday but Dad and Uncle Brian stayed for a few more days. I wonder if they shot any more deer? I guess I'll find out tomorrow.

What a beautiful weekend to get primed for the opening on Monday. I didn't get a photo of Wiener or Cecil. Sorry guys.

Here's the view from Vazzy's stand where I spent the first few days. It's hard to concentrate in there for some reason. I shot my deer about 100 yards directly behind the two big trees in the foreground.

Here's the view from Chummy's stand. Oh Canada. If you don't like the weather, wait a couple of minutes.

Here's Dad's, Tuesday 7:10am.

Here's mine, Tuesday 3:30pm.
